- 一个少年正面站着，全身入画，重心压在一条腿上。他穿一套发亮的蓝色绸衣，上衣从喉到腰缀着一排银色扣子，领口和袖口露出蕾丝；一件同色斗篷搭在左肩上，垂到身后。右手垂下，拎着一顶宽边黑帽；左手叉在腰后，只把斗篷压出一个凹陷。背景是一片翻涌的褐黄云，左右压着树与岩石，左边地平线处透出一点暖光。整幅画里只有他是蓝的。这幅画约作于一七七〇年，与真人等大，现藏加州圣马力诺的亨廷顿图书馆。它长期被当作五金富商之子乔纳森·巴托尔的肖像，但从未被证实；二〇一三年有学者提出，模特更可能是画家的外甥。连画的是谁都没有定论，这张脸却成了英国最著名的儿童像之一。它成名的过程也不干净：一个关于庚斯博罗顶撞雷诺兹的故事流传…
